The house for students and young people, la resi – Garcia House, in la Seu d'Urgell, is located in an unbeatable location: Castellciutat, today part of the municipality of la Seu d'Urgell, but an independent town until 1971. It is located on a hill facing the Cadí mountain range and the plain of la Seu, above the Valira River and at the foot of the first castle of the Counts of Urgell.
Its name, linked to the fortifications, already gives clues to its strategic location over the Urgellet valley and the traffic routes to Andorra, Cerdanya and Lleida.
The town of Castellciutat, currently with around 450 residents, retains a deeply rooted spirit of community and neighbourhood that is evident in its rural lifestyle, its own cultural events and unique facilities such as its rural school. It is clear, however, that from a socio-economic point of view, Castellciutat and la Seu d'Urgell are part of the same reality.
